Cancellation Policies

Q: What if I get injured/seriously ill/etc. and can’t make all of my membership classes/make-ups?

Q: What if I paid for a membership and cannot start on the start date?

Q: What if I miss class due to holiday or vacation and cannot attend a make-up within the 3 month timeframe?

A: To be fair to all of our students, we cannot refund or extend expiration dates of memberships. However, if you contact us within 30 days of your membership expiration date, we can change your initial payment so that it will be converted to the cash value you paid, and all classes you did attend can be counted as drop-ins, deducting the drop-in rate/class. The remaining credit will sit in your account indefinitely. Alternatively, you may purchase a new membership, and we will rollover your unused classes to your new active membership!

(Sorry, this does not apply to voucher classes from Groupon, Living Social, Amazon Deals, etc.)

PLEASE NOTE:
We’re sorry, but we cannot retroactively credit missed classes past the 30 day deadline.

It is your responsibility to contact us while your membership is still active or within 30 days of its expiration if there is a serious issue that will require a ”convert to credit” for your classes or if you wish to purchase a new membership to rollover your unused classes. Failure to do so by the 30 day deadline will result in the forfeiture of any missed lesson(s).

Q: What if I paid for a drop-in(s) or special event and cannot attend?

A: To be fair to all of our students, we cannot refund or extend expiration dates of classes or event tickets. However, if you contact us within 30 days of your class(es) or event expiration date, we can change your initial payment so that it will be converted to the cash/original value you paid. (If applicable, any classes you did attend will be counted as drop-ins, deducting the drop-in rate/class.) The remaining credit will sit in your account indefinitely.

(Sorry, this does not apply to voucher classes from Groupon, Living Social, Amazon Deals, etc.)

It is your responsibility to contact us within 30 days of the class or event ticket expiration if there is a serious issue that will require a ”convert to credit” for your classes. Failure to do so by the 30 day deadline will result in the forfeiture of any missed lesson(s), events, and/or prior payments.

Q: What if I paid for a Workshop or a Specialty Class and cannot attend?

We limit the size of our classes because we have a limited amount of space, and because we want to create the best experience for our students. If you have signed up for one of our Workshops or Specialty Classes and you cannot attend for any reason, you will be granted a studio credit as long as you notify us at least 48 hours before the start of the class.

Q: What if I need to cancel or reschedule my private lesson?

A: You are required to call Salsa in the Suburbs 48 hours in advance of your lesson to cancel or reschedule. Failure to do so will result in the forfeiture of that lesson and its payment. Please note that payment is due in full at the time of reservation or purchasing a private lesson package; no refunds.

Q: What happens if I cannot use all my classes within the three month time period? Is there any way to get an extension?

A: To be fair and consistent with all of our students, unfortunately, we cannot extend some people’s memberships and not others. However, there are two different options in place, so that you do not lose your classes/credit:

Option 1: We offer rollover classes! You have a month beyond your package’s expiration date to get a new package. When you do so, please let us know and we will add the unused classes from the previous package to the new package. You will then have three months from the purchase date to activate your new package by using the first class. Once you use the first class and activate your package, you will then have three months from that date to use all the classes up.

Option 2: We can convert your initial purchase to a credit in your Salsa in the Suburbs account, and then deduct the drop-in rate for the classes you did attend. The amount left will become a credit in your Salsa in the Suburbs account indefinitely, which you can later use towards more drop-in classes or a new package when you’re ready to come back again regularly.
