Wednesdays, 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. (3/8/17 – 4/26/17)

Gentle Yoga is tailored for those who want a comforting, nurturing yoga experience with lots of stretching, breathing exercises and deep relaxation. It is perfect for maintaining or expanding your current range of motion as well as creating a more conscious connection between your body and spirit.

Come and learn Ashtanga yoga’s philosophy, as well as increase flexibility and strength in the body, and develop techniques for relaxation to reduce stress. This class covers the concepts, terminology, and physical alignment necessary for those who are considering starting an Ashtanga yoga practice, or to continue your established practice. You will learn yoga techniques that go beyond the practice on the mat and learn the skills to create mindfulness off the mat!

Yoga Basics is a class that will introduce the basic concepts of yoga which entail integrating mind, body, spirit, and breath–all within a playful, safe environment. Together, we come into the breath and quiet the mind. All are encouraged to accept the beauty of their practice without needing to achieve anything other than coming into the present moment and truly experiencing it. Meditation are included in each session. Yoga basics is a great way to transition from the weekend into the work-week!

A Therapeutic approach for deeper relaxation of the mind and the body to restore our spirits. This class will focus on using traditional Hatha Yoga Poses that are held for a longer period of time using the support of props such as bolsters, straps, and blocks.  This class will use breathing exercises (Pranayama), Yoga Nidra (yoga of sleep) and Mediation (Dhyana)  to enable the you to feel more alert and refreshed.
ALL Props included in class.  You’re welcome to bring your own. No prior yoga experience necessary! All are welcome!

During this class we will explore how to eat mindfully and enjoy a balanced and healthy relationship with food using Yoga and Ayurveda (the sister science of Yoga).  We will learn how to end the vicious cycles of “dieting” and learn of to maintain eating habits that will nourish you from the inside out.
