Yoga Nidra (or yogic sleep) is a state of consciousness between being awake and being asleep.  The practitioner is laying on the floor supported with a yoga bolster and a blanket feeling completely relaxed while following a set of verbal instructions to become systematically and increasingly aware of their inner world.  Yoga Nidra is the deepest possible states of relaxation while still maintaining full consciousness in contrast to sleeping where dreaming can occur with little or no awareness of ones actual environment. The practice of Yoga Nidra has been found to reduce tension and anxiety.  Once the Yoga Nidra practice is complete the practitioner will be left feeling alert, refreshed, and calm. Yoga Nidra is like taking a 3 hour nap, but without the groggy feeling after you wake. Everyone Welcome.  No experience required.

$20/person. Space is limited, and this is an extremely popular event, so please reserve your spot ASAP!

Saturday, TBD, 12:00 -3:00pm

Join Julie, founder of Salsa in the Suburbs, for three fun-filled hours of hand flicks! Hand flicks, or arm tosses, are an essential tool to be equipped with for both Salsa and Bachata dancing. A hand flick or hand toss is one of the most common ways a leader can change the hand-connection he has with his partner. Since particular moves cooperate with particular hand-holds, having lots of different way to flick or toss the hands will help the leaders transition seamlessly from one move to another and create unique and exciting patterns on the spot!

This workshop is the ultimate guide for both leading and following hand flicks! After just one afternoon, the leaders will have practical ways to toss the ladies hands up in the air, behind her back, and even off to the side, resulting in improvised, unique patterns every time! The ladies’ will be able to follow hand-tosses with confidence and even have tools to stylize and embellish these hand flicks to make them beautiful and practical!
